Bryan Olivier Selected as CTO for CapRock Communications

Worldwide Expansion Drives Need for New Global Technology and Operations Position

HOUSTON - May 23, 2006

CapRock Communications, a global satellite communications provider to remote and harsh locations, has appointed Bryan Olivier as its chief technology officer (CTO). As CapRock continues to expand globally and into more vertical markets, managing the company's overall technology plan and service and support structure has become increasingly complex. In this role, Olivier will lead CapRock's drive to expand its technology and operational capabilities to meet the emerging requirements of its global customers.

"Customers have come to rely on CapRock to provide the same reliable enterprise-class service regardless of how remote their locations may be," said CapRock President and COO Errol Olivier. "A consolidated global approach to providing technology platforms and services to exceed customers' expectations is a necessity. Bryan's extensive network design and operational experience for companies with global customers make him the perfect fit for this key role."

CapRock's recent global expansion has included opening regional offices in Angola and Mexico to support increasing offshore oil and gas activity in the regions and launching a new maritime division in Norway to further expand the company's position in that market. "The company's expansion in the next few years will continue at an aggressive pace to support the ever growing global needs of its customers," Errol Olivier said. "With Bryan's background and expertise leading this initiative, customers will continue to receive the same seamless service regardless of where their operations take them."

The company's expansion also includes further penetration into vertical markets, requiring more advanced applications and value added services. Customers often need more than broadband access including applications to better manage their business in an environment of increasing regulatory demands and security concerns. "The position of the CTO is instrumental in integrating a diverse set of technologies to deliver customers a complete turnkey service, allowing them to focus on their core business," Errol Olivier said.

Bryan Olivier joins CapRock with more than 22 year of experience managing engineering and operations for technology-based companies. He has served in senior management positions responsible for network infrastructure strategy and development and technology standards selection. Most recently, Bryan has served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer for NovoLink Communications, and as senior vice president of engineering and chief technology officer for Clearwire Technologies. Bryan holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Houston and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and telecommunications from the University of Louisiana.
